Giveaway time!!...

...in exchange for a little advice please.

I've been working on a new design today at the screen printing workshop.
I have had a request from one of my stockists for some more male oriented pouches and hopefully this design fits the bill.

However I got a little print happy on a variety of fabrics and now I'm at a loss as to which work best...

...and that my lovely readers is where you come in.

In exchange for a spot of advice as to which fabric you think works best, your comment will be entered into a draw to win a pouch made up in that fabric.
Do you like the striped or checked shirting?
Do you like the Klona plains in red, blue or grey?
Or is your favourite my signature linen?

I really would value your opinion on this, so just leave a comment and I'll enter you in the draw, which will take place at the end of the week. Please make sure you leave a contact email so I can let you know if you have won.

Thanks and good luck ;-)

The stripes have it for me - but then I do have a thing for stripes.... I love the tourist attractions too :-)

I think the stripes work really well but I was buying for myself I'd choose the linen!
Thanks!

I love the plain red & blue Klona cottons - so vibrant and perfect for this little foray into motifs of Europe! such lovely work, Karen x

I really like the stripes and not so much the red. The others look good too. Love the designs you chose to put on the pouches as well.

I'd go for the reds or linen! great prints!

Love the new design Karen! They all look great but I have to say the stripes are definitely my favourite :)

I like the red stripe with the black print... the stripes add interest but the black on red stripe stands out much better than blue on blue stripe :)

for a man... black print on blue background, black print on red, and blue print on grey. The others just don't seem manly enough to me. I love the pouches, adorable in succession

heheh is everyone giving you a different answer? lol...
I think the stripes are really great! And perfect for a male too! If I was choosing I would go for blue stripes first followed by the blue print on the natural linen.
Lovely stuff though!

love the stripes!

I agree with Junebug A black on a manly red or gray woild work. I think the blue is too girly. Can I say without offending you that having both the towers may be one too many phallic symbols. You know men. What with the ferris wheel they might see competition. Sorry too much late night starz.

Eileen {bluebirdluxe} said...

Oh my gosh! Well, not hard to say that I love them all! Thinking manly.. :) I do love the black ink on the fabrics the most, and I love the stripes! Sooo, I say..signature linen or stripes with black or dark grey ink! Thank you for a fantastic giveaway! :)

I love the red and blue stripings.

I like them all, sooo not helpful, but I like the stripy one best and the solid cream next.

What a great design - I really like the red and the blue stripe.

Sheetal said...

these are so perfect! my favouritest one is the blue/ white stripes followed by the linen....

I think the plain blue fabric. I think any of the stripes detract the eye from the clean lines of the great design. I think you have to choose the masculine fabric that will result in the most sales to the average buyer. Many buyers would be traditional in what they might think is masculine-looking fabric: the plain blue.

In the last photo, the plain red fabric pouch looked orange and the ink looked slightly brown. I know that´s just a trick of the camera, but I liked the masculine retro look of that as well, if you needed a second masculine option.

Just my two cents worth - I love all your work.

Striped. Love the blue stripe so much.

Shanna of Fiber of All Sorts said...

Since your going manly. I would say the solids specifically the red and the cream. Now if your talking about me. . the stripes. :) LOVELY!

Indianna said...

I asked my OH sat next to me and he said the blue stripe - but if it was me I'd go for linen!

Caroline said...

Mmm, Im no man myself ;) But if I was, I would pick the stripes and the red!

Swirlyarts said...

I love the blue striped but then I like the plain linen too. If I only had to choose one then it would be the blue striped :)

verykerryberry said...

Blue stripes shine, then the solid blue, then the linen!

The undomesticated scientist said...

the blue and white stripes. Just enough to give the fabric some 'action' but not enough to take away from the design. also the stripes are abit french, like the tower! i don't think i've ever described fabric as having action before!

louise35flower said...

If I were buying for my man I'd go for the red, they all look great though, congrats :)

Cindy said...

I'd go for the red, and plain calico :) PS love your prints

Storeyshop said...

Love these! If I was buying for myself, I'd go for the stripes as I love a good stripe and I like how they look behind the design.

f I was buying for a man though, I'd go for the grey linen or the bright red.

Woh, I can see why you got confused! After much deliberating, I like the stripes but I could see my boys with the solid red and grey pencil cases. I think all these comments will confuse you further!

Sam Gillespie said...

love the print - I would buy the red or blue striped one for a man. but they're all lovely!

henny designs said...

If I were buying for me, it would be on the linen every time but buying for a fella I would be plumping for blue on the pale grey, or even make the motif black on pale grey, or black on the linen.
Super stuff! xxx

I personally think that the stripes work really well as the backdrop for the print.

Just thought I'd let you know!

I really like the red wide striped pattern fabric. The print looks great against that. Such a nice print :)

Ivana said...

I like the stripes too but also the plain cotton one. Would love to win any of your amazing pouches!!! Love,Ivana.

If you're going for masculine - I'd say the shirting is the best bet. Definitely not the pink or red.

Roberta said...

Love the new range Karen.
The blue stripes are my favorite, they add to the masculinity of the design but would be happily bought by women too I'm sure.

Marci Girl said...

I really think the most manly is the red/burnt orange pouch. It is quite striking, and I could see my husband using that one for sure!

Julie said...

I like the blue striped shirting, grey solid and, of course, the linen. Not sure what I'd choose....I do tend to prefer to feel things first. I guess, on that basis the blue shirting and linen would be most likely. Juliex

These look great! In the picture that shows all 6 options I preferred the linen, but then in the "flesh" when you show them as the final product, the stripes were definitely my favourite!

Elena said...

I like the stripes, and the red. Very nice prints! Simple, but still fun.

Cally said...

The national icons are a brilliant idea. For me - and also for the masculine design - it has to be the grey linen, followed closely by the natural coloured one - gorgeous!

Bailey said...

Going for masculine, I love the gray and linen. The stripes could also work, but not as much the red (at least thinking of the men I know).

Rebecca Lynne said...

If you are going more masculine then I would say either the Red or the Signature Linen. Do you have one with the linen and the screen print in black? I think that would be very manly indeed! Graphic, bold, but still handmade and unique.

Bree said...

Hmmm...I really like that orange!

elia said...

I like the stripes, maybe a darker ink on the blue and white would make it even better?
I love the all though really :)

stripes for me and the attractions are really lovely .

I really really like the striped one. I feel is the most manly :) and still pretty cool :)

Madam Salami said...

Seems the stripes are popular, not for me however, it hurts my head looking at prints on top of stripes! :/

My favourite is on the grey, I think that works really well.

Debbie said...

I love the blue stripe and i absolutely love the design you are using.

late in on the comp, but nevermind. but, for what its worth, I prefer the grey and the plain Klona versions. Although the grey stripes do look good!
