4 quilts...

 by the end of the month...not too much to ask is it? 

time will tell and we will just gloss over the fact that 2 of the 4 weeks remaining are school holidays and my time isn't quite my own.

so what have you planned for April?

I'm having a bit of a dotty thing going on at the moment.

Normally I line my pouches with Liberty fabric or shirting fabric, both of which i really love using, but today some relatively new Robert Kaufman purchases got a look in.

It all started when I was looking for a fabric to line one of my Summerville Pouches.

Perfect! More than a little ray of sunshine on this dismal day!

Having remembered that I had actually bought this fabric for this particular purpose, I decided to use them as linings for the other pouches that I've been making for a stockist today.

I really love them and just hope the stockist and customers do too!

Moving on with The Organic Range that started with Zipper Pouches, we now have

The Cushion.

The cover isn't entirely organic as the backing is made from shirting, but the front is made from beautiful, bold, fresh fabrics from Cloud 9's latest Nature Walk range.

The sun is positively streaming through my studio windows at the moment and simply bouncing of these gorgeous fresh fabrics. It really is a lovely range. I'm yet to purchase the brown/red colour-ways which I love too, but am thinking they have a more autumnal feel.

I could be wrong and I'm certainly more than happy to get some and give them a try.

I was going to use the spots for the backing to keep it entirely organic, but it did feel like over kill when I put them together. Also the front didn't seem quite as zingy as when I matched the front with the blue stripy shirting.

These will be available in my shops very shortly along with some zipper pouches that are queuing up to be completed.

My new Organic Range has been borne.

I had had interest in the new Pencil Pouch range from various Eco friendly peeps, but as soon as I said the fabric wasn't organic, it was a thumbs down.

It was only when I was using some of my collection of beautiful Cloud 9 fabrics, that the penny dropped. These were organic and would work fantastically. The cotton is so crisp and holds it's shape so well, that it's a dream to work with and looks good. And on top of that the designs are just scrummy too.

So with reinforcements received and swatch of the options to hand, I got going on a collection to offer.

I'm using the dotties as linings for all, which I'm loving the look of. Obviously you can't see them when they are closed and all together. But I know they are there and that gives me a lovely feeling to know how well coordinated they are. Sad I know.

Because they are heading out to an eco friendly stockist, not only are the fabrics organic but the trimmings are the vintage ones I have been using, adhering to the recycled element of green living.

The first of my Organic Range pouches are now heading out to the lovely Eco Eco. Eco Eco is a stylish boutique that promotes green living through it's lovely collection of ethical and environmentally produced products. Eco Eco is based in the beautiful Peak District, but if you aren't lucky enough to be able to visit in person, you can peruse their collection online.

I am really excited and proud to be able to produce more ethical products and am looking forward to doing a lot more in the future.
