So you have all been super busy over the summer and August's IG #blueberryparkmakes was full of gorgeous creations.

It was honestly so difficult to pick, but rules are rules soI could only pick 4...

@greenandbell ~ Rebecca's scrappy improv quilt is an absolute delight...so much beautiful piecing for the eye to gaze over.

@nohatsquilts ~ Sarah is the queen of miniature piecing and I just love these pants!

@lisasew ~ lisa came to one of my first screen printed workshops and designed and printed up the central panel for her sewing machine cover...love it!

@isobel_hill ~ Isobel's drawstring bag is a win on every level...cute bag...gorgeous colours and hexies...ticks all round!

Thank you everyone for making and tagging your pics. I just love seeing your makes. Go check more about these and others in the group and keep making with my fabrics!

Blueberry Park Makes 1...

One of the great pleasures I get from designing and printing fabric is seeing all the wonderful items that you all make with them.

Here are a bunch of amazing things that have popped up on Instagram this week. I just love the way everyone is so creative and has an individual take on what they create and to see my fabrics popping up in all sorts of different projects makes me oh so happy and proud.
You can see more of these great pieces and their talented owners on Instagram, clockwise from top left...

I have decided this is going to be a monthly feature on my blog...I will be posting my favourite makes with Blueberry Park fabrics at the end of each month. If you would like to be featured and show what you have created, all you need to do is post your pics on Instagram with the tag #blueberryparkmakes or if you don't do Instagram then you can post them on my Flickr group page too...also called Blueberry Park Makes

I can't wait to see what you all are getting up to....it is so inspiring!

future of blogs...

 here's a thing...
do blogs have a future?
or have the likes of IG taken over?

i am a huge fan of IG and use it daily...several times a day...and as a consequence i feel that maybe we get all we need from sites like that.
a quick fix of visual information.
and when we blog we are repeating what we have posted there. or is that just me getting lazy? or am i over using and over posting on places like IG leaving nothing fresh for my blog?
take this quilt for example. those that follow me on IG have seen all these pics. so do you want to see them again here?

i have to admit that i do like my blogs to have pictures...pretty pictures and i think this is why IG works for me. i can see what people are up to and interact with them in real time.
IG generally gives me all i need and i think there are plenty of others like me about as it seems visitor numbers on blogs have dropped off as have comment postings.

what do you think? i'd love to know. do you still read blogs as avidly as you once did? or do other sites do it for you?

 My week in pictures...

Like lots of us out there I'm a little bit addicted to Instagram on my iphone.
It's such a brilliant way to record day-day life without having to have a camera permanently on one's person.

Here's my week this week...

Monday: Wimbledon started...which saw me adopting my favourite lunchtime position. I can be seen here quite a bit this fortnight.

Tuesday: finally got around to washing the party bunting. Unfortunately it is still in a tangled heap due to being alternately drying and rained on all week.

Wednesday: capturing a rare UK Summer 2012 sunny shot, depicting how at least the rain is certainly helping to produce full blooms.

Thursday: An evening stroll up the road for me to meet friends for dinner, while Matthew and Ruby decide to go on their own summer's evening little jaunt.

Friday: Thanks to an Instagram pic from Sarah, I managed to bag this fab neutral nail polish free with Marie Claire this month. Now all I need to do is remember to buy some polish remover so I can complete the hand...

You may notice a distinct lack of sewing this week. I can assure you there has been plenty going on behind the scenes, as well as some other exciting stuff, which I am waiting to announce very soon. (If you have beady eyes you may already have caught a glimpse of it here...)
